  • IMPROVE YOUR DIET

Too many carbs?  Not enough carbs?  Too little/much protein?  Ask and we can help.  90% of your success is found in the kitchen!

We offer nutritional guidance and accountability through member partnership, challenges, and constant interaction with our coaches.

  • STAY DETERMINED

Iron-Oak provides the encouragement you need to continue your journey to successfully meeting your goals.  This may come through the communal support of our group classes and be held accountable by other members, or by working 1-on-1 with one of our trainers and having to turn in food logs and provide measurements as proof of staying on track.

  • PUSH YOUR LIMITS

Iron-Oak Fitness coaches have overcome odds of their own.  That being said, we feel that all individuals are capable of doing this as well.  At times, however, this is hard to do alone.  That is what we’re here for!!  Let us help you!

What are our methods?

We believe in constantly varied workouts.   This may involve days that are more specific to strength training, or other days that revolve around metabolic conditioning and muscle endurance.  It is our opinion that with proper programming, our members/clients will find the most benefit by a combination of particular movements, on particular days, with particular domain ranges in mind.  We believe that a combination of strength training and cardiovascular conditioning is essential to anyone’s progress, regardless of goal.

  • STRENGTH TRAINING

Strength training is important because? As your lean muscle increases so does your resting metabolism, and you burn more calories all day long. Generally speaking, for each pound of muscle you gain, you burn 35 to 50 more calories each day. That can really add up.

  • METABOLIC CONDITIONING

What is metabolic conditioning and why is it important? Metabolic conditioning simply refers to structured patterns of work and rest periods to elicit a desired response from the body. This desired response is usually to maximize the efficiency of a particular energy system. The body has several different methods of getting energy. Different ratios of work to rest periods call upon different energy systems and cause-specific adaptations. Therefore, researchers in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research concluded that a metabolic conditioning workout should be based on desired outcomes and an individuals level of fitness.

  • REST

    Why rest?

Building recovery time into any training program is important because this is the time that the body adapts to the stress of exercise and the real training effect takes place. Recovery also allows the body to replenish energy stores and repair damaged tissues. Exercise or any other physical work causes changes in the body such as muscle tissue breakdown and the depletion of energy stores (muscle glycogen) as well as fluid loss.

Recovery time allows these stores to be replenished and allows tissue repair to occur. Without sufficient time to repair and replenish, the body will continue to breakdown from intensive exercise.
