Nick & Natalie Liberatore were the first two full-time members at Iron-Oak Fitness and prove that not only do we provide results but that you can start at any age an ability level.

When and how did you get started with Iron-Oak?

Natalie:  I saw a post on facebook and also received a flyer in the mail of a new gym having a complementary workout.  I was getting a little bored working out at the rec center so I thought I’d give it a try.  I thought Nick would be interested too, so we both signed up.  That was Oct 1, 2016.  We were sold after the first workout.

Nick:  My wife, Natalie, told me about the grand opening and we decided to attend on October 1, 2016.  I liked the work out, signed up for a year on that day and started group sessions the next week.


Favorite workout/exercise? Least favorite workout/exercise?

Natalie:  My favorite is the weight lifting.  My least favorite is the burpees of course.

Nick:  My favorite is all weightlifting, except thrusters.  My least favorite is burpees.


What’s the wallpaper on your phone right now?  

Natalie:  Our two boys on the golf course. 

Nick:  One of the iPhone default wallpapers (pretty boring) on the phone, but I have a picture of the family (Natalie, Luke and Ben) on my Apple Watch.  


What’s in your most frequently used EMOJI tab?

Natalie:  Smiley faces – usually the confused one. 

Nick:  No response.


What’s your favorite thing about Iron-Oak Fitness?

Natalie:  The positive energy and no attitude structure.  Other gyms may advertise no attitude no judgement but at Iron-Oak that really is the atmosphere.  It starts with Ross and Brenda, as well as the other trainers, and continues with the athletes working with you.  The trainers are there to help you reach your goals and do your best.  The class sizes are such that you will get individual attention making sure you are doing the exercise properly to ensure achieving your goals. The other athletes are there working along side you and cheering you on.  The workouts are tough but it’s a great feeling after you completed it -there’s a sense of accomplishment.  I also like that I can scale the workout to my level and still be a part of the group regardless the level the others are at.

Nick:  First, all the coaches are great.  Most of my classes are with Ross and he always pushes me to do more than I think I can but does not go overboard.  The focus on my individual abilities and limitations ensures the workout is intense for my level.  Second, the members are fun.  We are always pushing and encouraging each other, even during burpees.


What’s the last thing you searched for on Google?  

Natalie:  Chicken Cacciatore recipe – tonight’s dinner.

Nick:  MLB Playoff Schedule so I can plan my business travel around the Indians run to the World Series.


What’s your favorite flavor ice cream?

Natalie:  Strawberry.

Nick:  Vanilla

(Umm…Wow!  Boring!!! – Just Saying!)


If you were a vegetable, what vegetable would you be?

Natalie:  Carrot.  (Extensive, Natalie, thanks!)

Nick:  I’d want to be a vegetable that everyone likes, so I guess I’d have to say Corn on the cob.


If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want with you?

Natalie:  A knife, ham radio and a willing companion – hopefully Nick would be the willing companion- I haven’t led him wrong yet!

Nick:  Knife, sunscreen and a raft with paddles.
